Henriette Quignon celebrated her 100th birthday on April 10. Originally from Claracq, near Pau, Henriette is the 7th in a family of 11 children. With Robert, her gendarme husband, she lived in Briançon and arrived in Saramon in 1957. Her husband practiced his profession there from 1957 to 1970 and Henriette looked after children.

Currently, Bernard, his son, takes care of his mother at home. In 2022, she underwent operations following falls. Fortunately, she recovered quickly and was able to return home to Saramon.

Every day, Henriette reads The Midi Dispatch and inquires about the news of the village.

On behalf of the municipality of Saramon, the mayor, Éric Balducci, and the municipal councilor, Monique Sansas, offered a magnificent bouquet of flowers to this sympathetic centenarian. Both were thrilled with his quick-wittedness, good health and cheerfulness.

Before their departure, she sang several times a Béarn song “Beth Ceu de Pau”.

The municipality wishes him excellent health and many other equally dynamic birthdays.
