Many batches of Saint-Nectaire cheese, sold throughout France, have been recalled. These batches of cheese are likely to contain listeria monocytogenes.
Be careful with your pieces of Saint-Nectaire AOP. On May 31, the Rappel Conso site, several batches of cheeses were recalled from stores. Marketed under the label “Saint Nectaire AOP farmer – Le Buron”, these batches of cheese are likely to contain listeria monocytogenes. These are agents that are usually responsible for listeriosis, a food-borne infection that can lead to sepsis (a blood infection) or infection of the central nervous system.
According to the Rappel Conso site, the batches of cheeses concerned were put on sale between April 26 and May 26, by many brands, everywhere in France: Grand frais, Fresh, Monmarche.fr and Bancofresco (Italy). The expiry date for these same batches is between May 10 and June 8. Here is the list of establishments that sold these batches of cheese:
