La Ferme en coton welcomes this Saturday, May 27 from 3:30 p.m. the association “Les roots d’en coton” for an event day around male contraception cleverly titled “La fête du slip”.
It’s a fairly unknown and even a little taboo subject that will be discussed this Saturday, May 27 from 3:30 p.m. at the Cotton Farm in Auch: male contraception. A rich program awaits visitors who come to attend this lively day. From 4 p.m. to 7.30 p.m., forum theatres, production workshops, events and literary encounters will punctuate this late afternoon. From 7:30 p.m., a convivial meal is organized with “Mamy’s chicken in Malik” with a possible vegetarian variant. “All the products will be local and organic to make the surrounding farmers work,” says Mary Bellot, co-organizer of the slip party.
Starting at 9:30 p.m., there will be moments of testimonials followed by an outdoor screening of Coline Grando’s “La place de l’homme”, followed by a lively debate. At 11:30 p.m., the organizers are planning a “sporting surprise” and will follow with a night of love with a 100% female DJ set hosted by Dj Velours and Raxxas.
“Popularize, democratize and share the mental load”
Contraception today rests essentially on the shoulders of women with hormonal (pill, implant) or physical (IUD, diaphragm) methods. Mary Bellot, who will co-host this afternoon event, wants to “open the discussion around male contraception to tell people that, yes, it exists”. Baptiste Petit, who accompanies him, explains that he has a few friends who have opted for this choice “to share the mental load in the couple”.
Several possibilities exist but remain unknown. There is in particular thermal contraception, the most common, which consists of “raising the testicles in their original channels in order to warm up and therefore reduce spermatogenesis”. There is also the silicone ring which is slowly making its way. “We had been thinking about creating this event for a few years here in the Gers because in rural areas people are perhaps less informed and there are few doctors up to date on the subject in the area”, explains Mary Bellot, referring to the situations of friends of hers who have to travel to Agen or Toulouse to consult.

PODCAST Let’s talk about sex. Male contraception: “A way to take control of your sexuality”
Baptiste Petit and Mary Bellot insist that this moment will not be something institutional in the form of a classic conference. “It will be a time for exchanges, testimonials, demonstrations, in a friendly way and in a sublime setting, without ever forcing anyone, but just saying that yes it is possible and succeeding in bringing about debate”, indicate the two co-organizers of the slip party.
Throughout the afternoon and evening, other themes will also be discussed around the freedom to dispose of one’s body, such as the wish not to want a child, abortion, sexual pleasure or consent again. “We are going to try to rough all these subjects to bring answers and exchange”, indicates Baptiste Petit. An original and original theme to discover this Saturday, May 27 at the cotton farm in Auch.
