On the initiative of the president of the SPL of the Thermes de Cauterets, Dominique Courdesse, the thermal establishment will host for the very first time the “May Lungs” day on Tuesday May 30, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
This event will be carried out in collaboration with the Toulouse association “Mai Poumons”, created in 2015. According to the founding members, too many respiratory diseases could be avoided. In France, 70% of chronic bronchial diseases remain undiagnosed. In Europe, 1 in 8 deaths is linked to a respiratory disease. Paradoxically, many of these serious illnesses could be avoided through better prevention.
The day of May 30 in Cauterets is a day of awareness and prevention on the respiratory system and the lungs in general. The event will take place in the thermal park. It will be free and accessible to all. There will be workshops, games, animations and several stands.
This day will also aim to screen for respiratory diseases on site. such as COPD and asthma. For the occasion, all the political and institutional actors of the territory will be invited.
Of course, this spotlight on hydrotherapy will promote the benefits of cures in the respiratory tract.
