Friday, June 9 at 3 p.m., the inauguration of the dining room of the Vergnes residence and the USLD Léonie-Chaptal took place, in the presence of Doctor Zanin, coordinating doctor of the Ehpad and representative Jean-Michel Baylet, Mayor and Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Deux-Rives Hospital Center. The establishment also welcomed representatives of the Cias, the town hall, the CC2R and the departmental council and Janine Dujay.

After three months of work, the residents of the Ehpad and the patients of the USLD were able to find refurbished premises according to the study of the interior designer, Mr. Moureau, of the firm Opteam Design, located in Toulouse. . This work, which became necessary in order to adapt the premises to the public received, the vast majority in wheelchairs, forced the removal of the many pillars in the room which hindered handling. Moreover, the old room was very noisy; the acoustic treatment of the ceilings with stylized sound absorption boxes made it possible to meet this objective, as did the use of a more suitable floor covering. In addition, on the ceiling, new lights have been integrated with descending light and variable intensity to increase the brightness during meals. The light intensity modulator makes it possible to dim the light after the evening meal to create a soothing atmosphere and prepare for falling asleep. An electric man lift was installed to allow the delivery of the trolleys. On the other hand, the staff benefited from the creation of a closed rest area and meals in optimized and friendly conditions adapted to the number of staff and allowing students and pupils to have a dedicated area. Finally, the corridors have also been rehabilitated, both the floors and the walls, with decorative quotes. The director wanted to thank all the residents for their patience during the works, the teams who had to adapt during this period, but also the funders of this work, namely: the investment assistance plan Ehped of the CNSA granted in 2021 by the ARS, the grant from the Fund for the improvement and modernization of establishments for the elderly granted in 2023 by the department council of Tarn-et-Garonne, the rest being financed by the own funds of establishment, with exceptional assistance from the ARS. Without forgetting in his thanks the families present and the residents of the Ehpad de Lamagistère who had joined those of Valence-d’Agen and Mr. Thezin, president of the council of social life, representative of the residents.
