The Arcades de Dourgne association, which has been managing a nursing home for many years, organized an open day aimed at a public discovering life in nursing homes, students, job seekers. Cédrik Decavele, the director, opened these doors and launched the visits. The home for aging disabled people (12 people), created in 2016, allows you to take part in cooking, drawing, etc. Activities Then move on to the establishment where 72 people are accommodated in single or double rooms, customizable, with bathroom, some with exit and terrace. Meals are prepared on site, they are taken either in the restaurant foyer or in lounges on the different floors, depending on the condition of the people. Varied menus that give complete satisfaction. Daily care is provided by the care and multidisciplinary team, with a place dedicated to people with Alzheimer’s disease disorders. As for the activities, they range from reading the press, gymnastics, various games, making jams… The public was finally invited to a round table led by residents and professionals on the theme of daily life and the taking into nursing care in institutions.
