Home Seniors: get registered in the event of a heat wave

The census of elderly, disabled or isolated people is essential for effective and targeted intervention by social services in the event of the initiation of any emergency plan. This is why the Senior Center of the City of Montauban is responsible for identifying vulnerable people and ensuring that the data collected is updated. The register of vulnerable persons is a nominative and confidential register. It includes information relating to identity, age, address, telephone numbers and people to contact in the event of an emergency.

In times of crisis, heat wave, extreme cold, or during natural disasters, municipalities have an obligation to help the most vulnerable people.

In the event of a heat wave in particular, the register allows the Senior Center to contact isolated people to ensure their situation. It is therefore very important that the data concerning them be updated.

This register is also communicated to the Prefect, at his request, on the occasion of the alert and emergency plan, within the framework of the organization and coordination of home interventions.

Registration in the register is optional and requires a voluntary process. Anyone (living at home) who feels they are in a vulnerable situation can ask to be registered in the register: elderly, disabled or isolated people. This census is based on a voluntary approach.

Provided that the person concerned or his legal representative does not object, a third party can also take care of the registration (parent, attending physician, help service or home care).
