The next collection will be held from June 15 to June 18, at the Maison des Vins, in the chapter house (“the cellar”). The reception will be in the “courtyard” at the entrance under tents. This collection in June is placed during World Blood Donor Day (WBD) and therefore supported by strong national media action. “The French Blood Establishment (EFS) wished for the JMDS to choose a remarkable and suitable place in Gaillac to organize it” indicates Evelyne Lesimple, of the Amicale des Donneurs de Gaillac. As every year, after these periods with public holidays, blood needs are still as important and donations essential. “Our collection, exceptionally will not start on Wednesday June 14, because the EFS of Tarn has planned a big collection at the Toulouse Lautrec museum on June 14 to collect a maximum of donations”. The collection in Gaillac, exceptionally, will only take place over three days, from Thursday June 15, the staff being mobilized in Albi. Every year, on June 14, the big family of voluntary blood donors celebrates the JMDS. It was established on the initiative of the World Health Organization (WHO) in 2004. The town hall has reserved parking spaces for donors nearby. It will put in place barriers, donors will have to present proof of their appointment by asking for it at reception or by presenting their appointment on their phone application or on printout. As always, they must remember to have an ID in order to donate. During this collection, the voluntary blood donors of Gaillac will receive the support of the Rotary of Gaillac, within the framework of their action contract with the EFS “My blood for the others”, with animations – Gaillac cheerleaders, accordion club Gaillacois, friendly to old vehicles – and an improved snack (pizzas, pastries, pies, fruit) at the end of the week. For blood donors, “the challenge will be to have as many donors as possible, so that they do not hesitate to make an appointment, via the “dondesang.efs.santé.fr” site or by telephone, donations are accepted and welcome”.
