Culver’s, the Midwest restaurant chain known for its ButterBurgers, Wisconsin Cheese Curds, and Fresh Frozen Custard, made guests’ dreams come true last October when they introduced the CurderBurgerTM on National Cheese Curd Day for one day only.
After nearly a year of guest requests, Culver’s is bringing back the curd-topped burger to restaurant menus from October 12th through the end of the month, or while supplies last.
Culver’s teased its cheese-loving customers with an imaginary delight on April Fool’s Day 2021: the CurderBurgerTM. After numerous requests from guests, including a Change.org petition, the brand banded together to make a limited amount of the previously mythical burger available for a single day.
Passionate fans showed up in ways that even the brand couldn’t have predicted, with 20% of restaurants breaking their single-day sales record systemwide.
With limited availability causing some curd-craving guests to miss out, calls for a return began before National Cheese Curd Day 2021 had even passed. This year, guests will have more time to get their hands on a CurderBurger (or two).
Last year, the excitement and enthusiasm surrounding the CurderBurger on National Cheese Curd Day were simply incredible, but due to limited availability, many guests were unable to enjoy the sandwich.
Quinn Adkins, Culver’s director of menu development, issued one of the statements. They realized we needed to bring it back in a big way for 2022, and they hope our guests will think it was worth the wait.
Deluxe ButterBurger
The Deluxe ButterBurger is a one-of-a-kind cheesy delight crowned with a crown of golden fried cheese, offering a warm, buttery crunchy, and gooey cheddar in every bite. The cheese crown is made of a mix of yellow and white cheddar cheese curds surrounded by crispy seasoned breadcrumbs, making it the ideal cheesy topping for the classic ButterBurger that guests have come to love.
Culver’s customers have been treated to cooked-to-order food made with farm-fresh ingredients and served with a smile for over 35 years. The franchise system is constantly growing, with over 880 family-owned and operated restaurants in 25 states.
The restaurants’ nationally recognized customer service is founded on small-town, Midwestern values, genuine friendliness, and a steadfast commitment to quality.
The award-winning ButterBurger, made from fresh, never-frozen beef, and Fresh Frozen Custard, which includes the famous Flavor of the Day program, are signature items.
Cheese curd fans, rejoice: the viral “CurderBurger” will be available for a limited time on Culver’s menus beginning Wednesday.
In 2021, the CurderBurger, a Deluxe ButterBurger topped with lettuce, tomato, pickles, red onion, mayo, and crisp, patty-shaped cheese curd, debuted as an April Fool’s Day joke. Later that year, in October, it was renamed “National Cheese Curd Day,” a holiday created by Culver’s to “celebrate the DairyLand delicacy.”
What Makes It Special?
The delicious crown of golden fried cheese on top of this burger sets it apart. The cheese crown is composed of yellow and white Cheddar Cheese curds encased in crispy seasoned breadcrumbs.
The company is extremely proud of its Wisconsin Cheese Curds and its relationship with Wisconsin dairy, so the CurderBurger is yet another way for them to showcase their signature quality and Wisconsin roots.
The Culver’s Deluxe and Wisconsin Cheese Curds are combined into one delicious, cheesy sandwich in the CurderBurger. The CurderBurger is an evolution of the classic ButterBurger in terms of flavor, but it also adds a savory component with the brand’s signature blend of herbs and spices.
The exceptional rate of development was made possible by the team’s talent and dedication, as well as the strength of the relationships with the manufacturing and supplier network. We can’t wait!
