This Monday, the second edition of the Interhospital Football Tournament took place at the Toulouse FC training center. 16 teams from health establishments competed.

Caregivers dressed in Ligue 1 or Ligue 2 team shirts – offered by the clubs – make their debut on the credits of “real pros”. This Monday, at the Toulouse Football Club training center, the second edition of the Interhospital football tournament brought together 16 teams from all over France.

The event is organized by the French Hospital Federation (FHF) and the Professional Football League (LFP) in order to bring together, for a day, “public hospital workers for a friendly moment around sporting values such as fair play and solidarity”.

Ibrahim and Guy, laboratory technician and employee at the logistics center at the Strasbourg University Hospital, did not know each other before kicking the ball together every week to prepare for the tournament. “It’s a pleasure this kind of event, a breath of fresh air. We all come from different departments and that allowed us to bond. When we won, we hugged each other even though we were strangers a few weeks ago,” smiles Ibrahim.

On the stroke of 4 p.m., the final was disputed. Brest faced Sochaux. 20 minutes later, the Cubs lifted the cup. Florine, physical activity teacher at the Nord Franche-Comté hospital could not believe it: “It’s completely unexpected, we registered on a misunderstanding. We are beginners. »

Fabien Barthez, the former goalkeeper of the Blues, held the trophy for them. “I am in awe of the caregivers. When I was asked to participate in the event, I said to myself that it was the least of things. They do so much for us on a daily basis,” says the 1998 world champion. Next year, the tournament will be held in Reims.
