Has become a major focus of action to ensure universal access to safe blood transfusions. To reward the volunteers who devote themselves on a daily basis, the organization of the department is organizing, on June 17, “a day to say thank you”. On this occasion, the 09 departmental union of blood donors wishes to honor all blood donors who, with their commitment, contribute to making our health system work well and to treating many patients. “Every donation is a precious gift that saves lives. Its repetition is the key to establishing a safe and sustainable blood supply.” To get together, the Ariège union has planned, from 9:30 a.m. after the reception and welcome coffee in the Intermarché car park, a hike or bike ride from the greenway towards Prat-Bonrepeaux. After the walk, there will be lunch at Le Couserans restaurant in Prat-Bonrepeaux (menu at 20 euros.)

The objectives are as follows: to honor people who donate blood, to thank them and to encourage more people to become blood donors; encourage healthy people to donate blood regularly, as often as it is safe to do so, in order to improve the quality of life of patients who depend on transfusions and to contribute to the establishment of a safe blood supply in all countries of the world; emphasize the essential role of regular, voluntary, non-remunerated blood and plasma donations in ensuring universal access to safe blood products for all populations and mobilize the support of public authorities and development partners at the national, regional and world to invest in, strengthen and support national blood programs.
