At the end of last week, within the premises of the early childhood center, Sophie Flekenstein, environmental consultant, was able to discuss with the parents and the professionals of the structure on the evolution of our environment and its impact on our health. , especially in young children.
This project, led by the Mutualité Française Occitanie in partnership with the Local Health Contract supported by the community of municipalities, aims to raise parents’ and professionals’ awareness of this issue, especially since the first 1,000 days of life are decisive. in terms of health capital for the future: “In fact, we are talking about everything that is likely to interfere with the health of children in the environment, including of course endocrine disruptors. The youngest are particularly sensitive and exposed, hence a message of vigilance given to parents. We are not here to give lessons, but to exchange, to transmit good reflexes” specifies the professional, who was able to observe a certain awareness of the parents: “We feel that something is happening… Cleaning and hygiene products, dietetics are topics that are increasingly being discussed. The exchanges were very positive “.
After an afternoon dedicated to parents, Sophie Flekenstein discussed this issue the next day with professionals from the various structures (municipal nursery, parental, RAM), actors on the front line during the child’s first years.
