RESTAT, the prescription benefit manager for Caterpillar, Inc., sent notices on Monday to Pete Johnson of Johnson’s Drug Store in Wyoming and Betty Hoy of the Bradford Pharmacy announcing that they can continue to participate as preferred pharmacy providers for the 2010 plan year. The new CAT prescription drug plan did not make allowances for small town pharmacies. Under this plan the only two pharmacies in Stark County would no longer be preferred providers to Caterpillar employees.
Toulon TIF finalized

The Toulon City Council finalized their Tax Increment Financing project (TIF) payments for the last two years.“These ordinances will take precedence of anything done before,” said Mayor Rick Collins at the regular meeting Monday. “As well as make us legal.”
The council approved ordinances authorizing funds to be paid to Franklin’s, Turnbull’s, DeWitte’s and the News Room Bistro.
Local business owner Mike DeWitte was present at the meeting and asked the mayor when he would receive his money. The payment was originally scheduled due in October of this year.
Moonlight Madness plans finalized

The Wyoming Area Chamber of Commerce met on Wednesday, November 4, for its regular monthly meeting at the Rock Island Depot. The main topic was the upcoming Moonlight Madness event being held on Friday, November 20, in downtown Wyoming.This annual holiday kickoff is held prior to Thanksgiving to aid the merchants in showcasing their products or services. The Chamber sponsors this wonderful event each year. The highlight is the lighted parade and this year is looking to be one of the better ones. Of course Santa will make his annual appearance.
Schock visits FMC plant in Wyoming

U.S. Congressman Aaron Schock of Peoria told employees of FMC Corp. in Wyoming Monday that he would prefer to give citizens tax-free income from their employers to buy health insurance, as opposed to the health care legislation that recently passed the House, which he called an expanded government entitlement program.Schock visited the half-century old plant to learn more about manufacturing processes in his 20-county district.
LaFayette misses grant funds

The village of LaFayette discussed other funding options to have their water tower painted during their regular meeting Monday.The village was recently notified that a grant application had been denied. Further applications are possible, but the village may have to fund the whole project through regular financing channels. Regular financing would cause the village to increase water rates by $6 to $12 per user depending on the financing options.
Not willing to raise water rates, the village wait and work on other grants available in February.
In other business, the village approved the payment of $5.766 to Chuck Hay Insurance for the annual premium of all the village’s insurance.
